Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Athla ("Athla", "we", "us") provides a multi-tenant platform for organized sports — clubs, gyms, schools, coaches, athletes, and parents. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect when you use the Service, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
2. Information you give us
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, account type (Individual or Organization), and (optionally) city and primary sport. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email, and profile picture with us.
Organization information. If you create or manage an organization, we collect the organization's name, type, location, contact info, and the membership and roles you configure.
Content. Posts, photos, calendar events, rosters, and other material you publish on the Service.
Communications. When you contact us for support, we keep a record of the conversation so we can help you and improve the Service.
3. Information collected automatically
Technical data. IP address, device, browser, and operating system, used for security, abuse prevention, and basic analytics.
Usage data. Pages viewed, features used, and aggregated discovery signals (impressions and clicks on public organization profiles) used to improve search relevance.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and protect against fraud.
4. How we use information
We use information to operate, secure, and improve the Service — for example to: authenticate you and keep your session active; render rosters, calendars, and feeds for the right audience; send transactional emails (invites, password resets, account notifications); enforce our Terms and prevent abuse; and analyze usage trends in aggregate.
5. How we share information
Inside your organization. Information you publish to a team, club, program, or class is visible to other members according to the visibility and permission settings you choose.
Public profiles. If an organization or team is marked public, its profile (name, sport, city, description, logo) is discoverable by anyone using Discover.
Service providers. We use trusted vendors to host the Service (Convex), deliver email (Resend), serve assets and media (Bunny CDN), and perform identity verification (Google for OAuth). They process data on our behalf under contractual obligations.
Legal. We may disclose information to comply with applicable law or a valid legal request, to protect Athla, or to protect users.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Your choices
Profile. You can edit or remove most personal fields at any time from your profile.
Notifications. You can adjust notification preferences in your profile settings.
Cookies. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Note that disabling required cookies may break sign-in.
Account deletion. You can request deletion of your account from your profile settings. We will retain limited information required to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
7. Data retention
We retain account and content data for as long as your account is active. After deletion or extended inactivity, data is removed or anonymized on the schedules configured in our retention policy (typically within 30–90 days for most categories), except where a longer period is required by law.
8. Security
We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information — including encrypted transport, access controls, server-enforced authorization, and audit logging of sensitive operations. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International transfers
Information may be stored and processed in countries other than the one in which it was collected. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete it. Parents and guardians who wish to discuss a minor's account may contact us.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If the changes are material we will give reasonable notice (for example by email or via an in-app notice). The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
